While common in the pet trade (and because they're common in the pet trade), sun conures are endangered in the wild, with some estimates counting less than 2,000 individuals left in their native Brazil and Guyana. The Guyana population, in particular, has been harvested to near eradication thanks to pet exports.
In captivity, sun conure numbers are high - their cheerful and social nature makes them a favorite among bird owners. They can live up to 30 years in caring pet homes.
This bright, cheerful 6x8-inch pastel sun conure artwork features expressive strokes in its blue background with details rendered in pastel pencil. Initialed in pencil on the front, signed and dated on the back. Pastel on heavy Canson Velvet paper.
** To preserve the vibrant colors of your pastel artwork, please display away from direct sunlight and frame behind UV-resistant glass or acrylic. Frame not included.
** This piece will ship mounted to a white framing mat to fit an 8x10 inch frame (not included).
